Lenses for mFT-cameras...

Nature and
Portraits… The longer the lens, the stronger the fever in nature
photographers eyes. In old days it was said, that a 400mm lens is a bird
shooters normal (here, 200mm). And nobody shot with those handheld. Now we have
the compacts like 75-300 and 100-300… and about nobody uses them on tripods. The Panasonic
Leica 100-400 is also a very compact lens for the reach it offers.
For a new
photographer the shorter ones, up to 150-200mm may be easier to start with.
Great for portraits, landscapes, street, close ups… In kits cheap and good,
really. The new flagship 40-150mm f2.8 not that cheap, nor that compact, but
for what it is still maybe both. Portrait shooters might be happy with the 35-100mm
lenses.
Classic
ones: Zuiko D 35-100 f2, 50-200 SWD and 90-250 f2.8… The new 35-100 f2.8 and
40-150 f2.8 earning their reputation right now, as well as the new Panasonic Leica 50-200mm lens. And, of course, the Bigma
(Sigma 50-500) and SigMonster (Sigma 300-800mm). The last one could be the
dream of a wildlife photographer with a big wallet and strong assistants. I
would not recommend to use that handheld.
Hopes: I’d
love to see the new Sigma and/or Tamron 150-600 lenses with AF and mFT-mount for
sale. I might find some use for one. Or for the coming Olympus 150-400mm…
